37 Hours per week Monday to Friday (to be worked flexibly in line with business needs) including day release

5 year contract

You will be working as part of a busy Property Investment Team within Property Services.  We are looking for somebody who is able to effectively and efficiently assist in the provision of quantity surveying services for the delivery of all service needs including both internal & external customers.

The degree apprenticeship placement is for 5 years in total, and at the end of the apprenticeship it is expected that you will have gained an Honours Degree in Quantity Surveying. This is a great opportunity to ‘learn whilst you earn’, building up key skills which will then be a grounding for your career. Please note that this post is conditional on you remaining on the degree course and passing all required coursework and examinations. If you leave the course for any reason or fail the examinations your post here will be terminated.

The degree apprenticeship placement is designed to give the candidate skills in quantity surveying through both on-the-job training and formal training at Liverpool John Moores University on their BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying day-release course. There may be an opportunity for you to apply for the post of Graduate Quantity Surveyor on the successful completion of your degree apprenticeship.

Good numeracy skills are essential, as day to day you will be assisting in dealing with procurement of works and services, payments to contractors, measuring of works etc. This role will need good written & verbal communication and I.T. skills. You will be required to work well under pressure & deliver with a flexible and adaptable approach in this busy Property Investment team. Good team working and customer focus for quality delivery are essential.

You will be required to visit construction sites in order to attend meetings, measure and value physical works, agree contractor progress payments and the like. Therefore it is essential that you have a valid driver’s licence.

Please visit the Trust’s website at www.wvht.co.uk for job information and apprentice application form. Note that you should use the Apprentice Application Form which is different to the standard application form..  All completed forms should be returned by email to degreeapprenticeshipsjobs@ljmu.ac.uk (NB Liverpool John Moores University will carry out the initial checking and collation of applications; do not send to Weaver Vale Housing Trust). Please ensure that “Weaver Vale Housing Trust’s QS Degree Apprenticeship” is included in the subject line of your e-mail.

Closing date for applications:         31st July 2017 (12.00pm)

Assessments to be held:                  15th August 2017
